In Loving Memory of Don Hall

June 22, 1950 – July 3, 2020

On Friday, July 3, Donald Lee Hall, loving father of four children and grandfather (PaPa) of 11 grandchildren, passed away at the age of 70.  Don was born to Minnie Lee and Julian Edgar Hall on June 22, 1950 in Atlanta Georgia. He had a wonderful childhood, growing up in Inman Park with extended family living on the same street.  Inman Park and Virgil Street held a special place in his heart and he went to visit the “old neighborhood” at every opportunity.  The Inman Park festival was a much anticipated time of year for Don, and through the years, he brought all of his children to visit and reminisce.  Don attended Georgia State University and  West Georgia College and worked hard throughout his life providing for his family.  Don married Cynthia Boatwright on July 1, 1977 and they raised 4 children:  Heather, Brandon, Jason, and Katie.

Don was an amazing man and friend; but, his greatest accomplishment was his family.  He dedicated his life to his children and family.  He was a wonderful father and the best Papa.  He nurtured in them a love of family, a strong work ethic, the ability to find joy in life, a love of soccer, and a love for the Georgia Bulldogs…well…sometimes, Georgia Tech.  He really couldn’t decide on his favorite football team.  Don loved garage sales, a good deal, taking drives in the country, singing karaoke, boiled peanuts, the 4th of July and Christmas, the beach, and sitting on the back porch talking to friends and family…maybe with a bourbon in hand.  He was a lover of music, especially Jimmy Buffett, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, The Allman Brothers, and Casting Crowns.  He was known for his big smile, his work ethic, his stories, and his immense love of family.  He was a big personality and a great friend.

He was proceeded in death by: his mom, Minnie Lee, his dad, Julian Edgar, and his nephew, Michael.  He is survived by: his 4 children, Heather (Aaron) Woitkovich, Brandon (Ashley) Hall, Jason (Savannah) Hall, and Katie (Austin) Ledford; his 11 grandchildren, Jack, Luke, Charley, Lily, Nora, Landon, Maddux, Aiden, Jax, Brody, and Cash; his brother, Eddie (Ruth) Hall; and his nephews, Mark (Alethea) Hall and Darin (Missy) Hall.

He was loved by many and will be profoundly missed.
